February 13, 20179 yr hello all. new to unraid, but not inexperienced. ive been setting up unraid slowly as i copy data to the array, and decided i would install some plugins. more specifically i installed the nerdpack to enable the use of screen. after installing, i tried to use screen and it failed on a library dependancy. i figured i would reboot and see if that helped things. now the webui wont load on boot, but i can still ssh into the box. i have tried to start the emhttp service manually but none of my configurations load, and it sees no disks. i attempted to look at the rc.0 configuration files to see what i could load to start the gui service, but i have no access to vi (block error) some posts have led me to believe that my 1gb of ram may not be enough to use the unraid environment with these plugins installed, but i fail to understand why the plugins would take preference over booting the web ui service. i believe this is a dependency issue, and since my headers may not have been upgraded, or the replaced installation files reference older headers... my service is broken. at this point, im hesistant to purchase the full version if issues like this are prevalent! how can i roll back the changes of the plugin installation, or how can i recover the configuration file that references my parity record and reinstall? thanks for any help you guys can provide. some hardware info dual core celeron, 64 bit. 1gb ram onboard sata host
February 13, 20179 yr Community Expert Reboot and use Boot with no Plugins to see if this changes your setup. Just to clarify, this appears in the Boot Menu as SAFE mode. screen does have a dependency (utempter), but it is usually included automatically by Nerdpack when you enable screen. 1GB is probably not going to be enough to get the best experience, even without addons. Even if you are familiar with other Linux systems, it is probably best if you don't try to fix things yourself at the command line without further advice until you learn a lot more about unRAID. Not sure what you are talking about when you say "headers" and "replaced installation files". That doesn't really apply here, since the OS is unpacked fresh from bzimage, bzroot into RAM on each boot. Another reason I don't think you should be thinking of this as just another Linux. After you get booted up SAFEly, post your diagnostics by going to Tools - Diagnostics. If you still don't get the webUI see Need Help sticky linked in my sig for how to get diagnostics from command line.
February 13, 20179 yr Author fantastic! it booted up and looks great, with no plugins. im downloading the diagnostics to post here as i type. Now that i know its DEFINITELY a plugin issue; how do i remove the offending plugins? here is the diagnostics file.... thanks for your help!!! i plan on adding more ram, just one of those things to do... lol tower-diagnostics-20170213-1852.zip
February 14, 20179 yr Author update: after poking around in the plugin page i realized there is a plugin download directory after navigating to this directory and removing the NerdPack plg file and directory i tried a reboot. system boots up perfectly and im running again! Thanks SO much for helping; now i know that theres a safe mode to poke with. Thanks!@!!!
February 14, 20179 yr Your very welcome. I would of gave you a bit more help earlier, but work expected me to well perform today. There is a lot of support here and you shouldn't feel like your all alone here with the many and I do mean many people here in this community. If the Nerd Pack plugin caused you some grief I would give that post in the forum a looksee and give them a heads up or maybe they can give you more info on a fix to what ever might of caused your problem.
