March 15, 201016 yr Has anyone been able to get Dropbox (www.dropbox.com) installed inside unRAID? Would be an extremely useful addon.
March 15, 201016 yr I wouldn't dare use it. From their privacy policy: Business Transfers. Dropbox may sell, transfer or otherwise share some or all of its assets, including your Personal Information, in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets or in the event of bankruptcy. Any of your stuff you put in there they now own.
March 15, 201016 yr Personal Information does not equal the data contained within your Dropbox account. I would expect this kind of statement to exist in terms of all similar services. I use it for convenience for some files, truecrypt can be used in addition for further security.
March 15, 201016 yr Personal Information does not equal the data contained within your Dropbox account. Actually thats exactly what it says. Stay well away
March 15, 201016 yr Personal Information does not equal the data contained within your Dropbox account. Actually thats exactly what it says. Stay well away Can you elaborate? I am genuinely interested from a legal point of view. How can they make a statement like 'The files stored on your Dropbox are accessible only to you via your login. Dropbox employees can't access the files in your Dropbox or your computer by policy or capability.' if personal information was to include stored data.
March 15, 201016 yr The general rule of thumb is "physical access = root access". They clearly say they will sell their kit if they need to. There have been several very public cases where even heavily encrypted services have been opened by court order. As with all things your mileage may vary but i wouldnt risk it
