March 21, 201016 yr Author Well, typing the command /boot/unmenu/uu allowed me to access the unraid server menu with //tower:8080 But my go file is as follow: #!/bin/bash # Start the Management Utility /usr/local/sbin/emhttp & CTRLALTDEL=YES LOGSAVE=30 installpkg /boot/packages/powerdown-1.02-noarch-unRAID.tgz /boot/unmenu/uu echo "/sbin/powerdown" | at 21:30 Looks like the command /boot/unmenu/uu is already there...What's wrong?

Either... A. you've not rebooted B. you did, but unmenu crashed on an error (there are many I cannot trap. To "awk" they are fatal and it just terminates) C. You ran out of memory and the linux kernel terminated the process idle the longest, and it was it. D. You stopped unmenu yourself. No way to know without looking at the syslog, as it usually will have a record of the termination as long as you did not reboot since then. Joe L.
May 2, 201016 yr Author Hello, This is what I see on the "Main" screen for my flash drive: usb-SanDisk_Cruzer_Mini_200435130307b7512834-0:0 /boot vfat What is the exact serial number?
May 2, 201016 yr If you go to the "devices" page, the GUID of the flash drive will be shown at the top of the page.
May 3, 201016 yr Author What are my best options for hard drives? I've read somewhere that 2Tb were not reliable I already own a 1.5Tb WD "Green" (WEADS serie) Could use it as the parity disk, or as a data disk And I also have a 250Gb that I will use as the cache disk Should I get some 1Tb or 1.5Tb disks What are the good picks (price, reliability, compatibilty with Unraidserver, etc...) Thanks
May 3, 201016 yr Basically anything from WD, Samsung, or Seagate should be fine. I would avoid Hitachi and Fujitsu, based on past experience with them. I'm partial to the WD Greens (EADS or EARS), but the Samsung EcoGreens are great drives as well. Just preclear any new drive to test it out before trusting it with your data. I too have heard about unreliable 2 TB drives, but I can't comment either way at this point since I don't own any myself. My largest drives are all 1.5 TB. When I buy a new drive, I just choose the drive that gives me the most 'bang for my buck' (meaning the most GBs per dollar spent). As for prices, just check the Good Deals forum. If you have the luxury of waiting for a sale, then do so. If you need a new drive today, then just shop around. I recently picked up a 1.5 TB Seagate 7200 rpm for $70, for example, thanks to the Good Deals forum. 1500 GB / $70 = 21.43 GB/$, which is an amazingly good deal. Most drives these days are around 15 GB/$.
