Unclean Shutdown - Device Emulated - Parity Check?

Hello Everyone,

I pulled a couple of drives in preparation to upgrade them, unfortunately the Web GUI hung and caused the system to be flagged as unclean shutdown.

Since the drives were pulled, the disks were flagged as invalid and contents emulated as expected.

However, when starting up the array, it needs to do a parity check do to an unclean shutdown - but what is the point when the contents are emulated? What parity data is it checking if 2 drives are missing - the data on the remaining drives?

Thanks.
