February 15, 20179 yr When I try to boot an just created Arch Linux virtual machine, I always get the UEFI Interactive Shell v2.1 I have created and deleted a number of Arch installations, each time using different options and settings, but each time I can't boot - always getting this UEFI Interactive Shell. I'd appreciate some advice as to how to actually get into my Arch installation. Thanks in advance!
February 15, 20179 yr I had a similar issue with Ubuntu. I think something was messing up the EFI partition and prevented boot. I chose the easy way out by changing to SEABIOS and it works fine.
February 16, 20179 yr Author I've set mine up my unRAID virtual machines to not use UEFI or a GPT partition, so I've been puzzled why I should ever even see the UEFI Interactive Shell. However, I've gotten the same error with Arch proper as well as two distributions based on Arch Linux. I've been able to install Arch proper and the other two distributions, using the same iso files, on VMWare, so I don't think it has anything to do with the installation files. I'm reinstalling Arch using SeaBIOS. Hopefully I'll have the same experience as you did!
February 16, 20179 yr Author Well, that fixed the problem!! Booted into the installed Arch Linux when I installed it using SeaBIOS! An enormous THANK YOU for your help! Now I'll try (again) to install Manjaro, but this time using SeaBIOS!
