Quicksync in Docker?

Featured Replies

So, I've noticed in he 6.3 release info, that improvements were made on the VM front to be able to passthrough intel IGD's to VM's.  This is great, and if it works well, should allow creating a VM to do hardware accelerated ffmpeg transcoding.  My question, however, is whether this also enabled ffmpeg to access quicksync from the host (well, from in a docker).  I would much rather run my transcode jobs from a lighter weight docker, than a full fledged VM, as long as ffmpeg can get at those helpful quicksync features from there.

Any info/news/tips?

I was wandering the same thing. I would like to know if a Plex docker would be able to have Intel quicksync available to help with playback.
