New permissions issues | Unix User\Nobody error

Featured Replies

I am having issues editing files on share that have been written my Plex DVR UnRaid docker (I didn't have this issues with Windows Plex DVR) that I cant delete/edit via windows/mac pc over SMB. Reading forums its to do with Linux permissions, there appears ways to fix by SSHing in to UnRaid and typing i some edits somewhere... but not really experienced in changing stuff as might mess up some stuff, is there an UnRaid pluggin or some easy way to configure in UnRaid Gui to edit permissions to allow the public share for everyone to have full control of files/content please?

Cheers, Julian

Since no one else has jumped in, I will attempt to give some insight.  As I recall, these problems are usually caused by a plugin or Docker that has not been properly configured with the proper owner-group settings.

You can probably fix the problem (temporarily) by running the 'Docker Safe New Permissions' script in the 'Tools' menu.  (I believe that this script is a part of the 'Fix Common Problems' plugin.

You may have to use the command line interface to see which files have the wrong settings and use that to figure out what application is not configured correctly.
