ftp transfer of 2GB+ files failing - unRAID 4.5.3 and vsftpd

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am logged onto my unRAID server and have fired up the FTP (vsftpd) and connected to my FTP source, which is my Qnap 209 Pro II nas box.

I am trying to use FTP commands whilst on my unRAID server to transfer FROM my Qnap TO my unRAID box.

I can connect, browse around and even transer small files to my unRAID box. The problem is that i cannot download any files over 2GB to my unRAID server, i get this error:

local: Sample File.mkv: File too large

426 Transfer aborted. Operation not permitted

2147483647 bytes received in 95 seconds (2.2e+04 Kbytes/s)

I have set the transf mode to binary before i commenced the transfer (by typing in 'bin') but i still get the error. I tried different files and i get the same issue. I also tried transferring the files via SAMBA and it works, but it is just slower.

Any ideas? Is this possibly a problem on the Qnap end?

Is it worth using proftpd which comes with unMENU - if so i am a little hesitant becuase the warning on unMENU says that vsfptd will no longer be available after installing proftpd, so i would love to know if there is a dummy's guide to installing proftpd (or it is just a case of clicking the button on the unMENU packages screen?!?)

thanks!

You are asking the same questions in multiple threads.

Joe L. already answered you that in this thread:
