Need advice for psu and case

Featured Replies

Hello everybody,

I want to buy a used workstation, which is a Fujitsu Celsius R670-2 , and it contains a Fujitsu D2618 motherboard, a xeon X5650 cpu, and 24 GB DDR3 ECC RAM. It also has it's original PSU, a 950W Hipro, but I'm not sure if I should use a 5-7 year old psu for continuous operation, what do you think?

I also have a one year old Thermaltake TR2 600W psu at home, would it be more reliable? The motherboard's manual, at 33. page says that it needs one 8 pin for cpus, one 24 pin for motherboad, and one additional 10 pin for also the motherboard. Would it work without the extra 10 pin connector, or can you recommand any psu for this motherboard? I can't find any new psu with a 10 pin power connector.

One more question: here I see that the motherboard form factor is AT03, but in the manual I linked above, on page 9 it says that it is EATX. Are these the same? It should fit in any E-ATX case, right? Silence is very important, so I would buy a Nanoxia DS2.

Thank you for any advice!
