February 28, 20179 yr Hello UNRAID forums, I am a new user and seem to be kind of fumbling my way through unraid, Maybe changed a few settings which made things act funny, made things disapear, having performance issues. So some issues I have been having is array speeds, maybe I am expecting to much. Coming from freenas I am used to a downstream of 100mb+ , unraid i am getting around 20-40mb. write speeds jump high to around 110mb for a few gigabytes then plummet to below 10 I have some docker containers running, everytime i reboot the containers disapear and i need to re-install them, however there settings remain. so its a simple task. I am switching from Freenas to Unraid so that i essentially can combine 3 machines in the house into 1. (Freenas, Windows Server, Openelec HTPC) What I am looking for in this post is for someone to direct me the best way to setup my unraid installation for best performance. What am I doing with unraid --------------------------------- VMs - VYoS, Libreelec,Windows Server VYoS - Router/Firewall Obviously, Am Passing an INTEL 4x1GB PCI-E Network Controller Libreelec - To replace my Openelec HTPC, Will be passing through USB device for boblight, and discrete GPU, Would also like to passthrough a bluray drive, but VM hangs on POST when trying to pass the drive Windows Server - Running Homeseer, there is a linux version available on there website, I would really like to run this in a docker container, but am finding that a good guide for unraid containers hard to find. Also running INSYNC but there are dockers available for this ------------------------------- Dockers - McMyAdmin (Minecraft Server), Couch Potato, Sickbeard, SABNZBD, Would like Homeseer but can't find a container, and am left more confused everytime i try to figure it out. ---------------------------------- Hardware - 1x 1TB SSHD WD Black 2x 80GB SSD (Older Intel drives) 4x HDD Ranging from 2tb - 4tb, -------------------------------- Passthrough- Sending GPU and Arduino to Libreelec Sending USB Insteon PLM to Windows Server for Home Seer (i would really rather have this in a docker) *Trying to send BluRay to Libreelec, hangs at memcheck What drive(s) should I be using for caching? What shares should be using what drives? ETC I do not have alot of data on the array and have a local backup so wiping the array is an option Thanks guys for you're help Edited February 28, 20179 yr by th3count
