How to stop the preclear plugin

Featured Replies

I try to preclear a disk from the GUI with the installed plugin but after clicking start precleat all it says is starting now for 15 mins. clicking the red x doesn't stop it.

How can I stop it without rebooting? The server is currently rebuilding a disk.

Are you trying to restart the pre-clear you asked about earlier (the one that hung at ~82%) ??

Did the system shut down okay with the power button?

... or is this on a different server?

When did you start the rebuild?   And is it still proceeding okay?   I'd be inclined to simply do nothing until that completes as long as it's still working okay.

I could reboot the server over IPMI, I had to just power down and restart. Luckily it didn't start a parity check and I could powerdown through the GUI this time. I then replaced a bad disk with a newly precleared one and started a rebuild on it. The system has been parity built checks etc. without problems the last couple of days. The problems started with this preclear plugin. I tried to use bjps script and all went wrong. I am more comfortable with preclearing from the CLI. This plugin seems to hang and You can't see what is wrong. It really could have a better error handling.

The log is filling up with:

Feb 28 18:08:05 Hal-1 root: error: plugins/preclear.disk/Preclear.php: wrong csrf_token

As I noted earlier, if the disks have been unmounted, then even if the shutdown fails the flag for a "clean shutdown" has already been set, so a parity check won't start.

I agree with the CLI version of pre-clear.   That's the only way I EVER do it.

Which preclear script do you use, the fast one from BJP? Which versions are compatible with unraid 6.3.2?

I use Joe L's script ... and actually when I run it, it's on an older spare system that I just boot with v5 -- no assigned disks or anything.   I assume this would work with v6.3.2, but I'm not certain, as I haven't used it on either of my 6.3.2 systems.   I never bother to run pre-clear on a "live" system -- yes, it'll work; but I have plenty of "extra" systems laying around in my spare "hobby room" so I don't need to do that.

Joe L. preclear script has to be patched to run on v6. There are instructions for the patch on the thread for the script.
