Parity Check Speed LSI vs MARVELL - dramatic differences based on controllers

Featured Replies

Sadly the v6 Marvel Bug has popped its ugly head up prompting me to move from the long trusty SASLP to an H310 SAS controller as per:

CPU -  Intel i5-2500 - vt-d enabled
Motherboard- Asus P8H77-V LE (Intel H77 Sata Controller)
6x 4 TB XFS      HGST HDN724040ALE640 7200 rpm drives (3 data, 2 parity, 1 warm spare)
1x 2 TB BTRFS WD20EARS

The Dell Perc H310 is a PCI-e x8 based on the LSI SAS2008 dual SAS Controller- flashed to Firmware P20.00.07.00
The Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 is a PCI-e x4 based on the Marvell 6480 dual SAS Controller - flashed to Firmware 3.1.0.21

SASLP - Data Drives Only
H77 - Cache & Dual Parity Drives
9 hours 56 minutes

SASLP - Data, Cache & Dual Parity Drives
10 hours 36 minutes

H310 - Data, Cache & Dual Parity Drives
8 hours 2 minutes

I am curious if moving the Dual Parity back to the H77 will result in further reductions...

Dunno if it helps you or not, I'm running the M1015 (LSI same as H310) with seagate 8tb's and I parity check at 125MB/s?
Not sure if that's good or not?
