SLOVED Wipe like a new install

Featured Replies

Hi,

This is my first UNRAID build and before I move all my data to it I wanted to experiment and get the hang of it. I'm just wondering what the easiest way of wiping all the data off my array disks and cache is? So the server appears like new.

I already wipe the USB stick and redo that, but the array / cache data stays and I can't find a FORMAT / WIPE option.

Thanks

If this is the first time these disks have been in an Unraid, you will be required to format them when they are assigned. Prior to doing that I would recommend checking to make sure you have no important data on the disk.

Sorry if I wasn't clear.

The drives are currently running in an array with test data on them. I want to wipe the data / array to put my actual data on them. I want to start a fresh so to speak.

To format change each disk filesystem to a different one, start array, format all disks, change filesystem again to intended one and format one more time.
