--Sanity Check-- Will this work?

Featured Replies

Hi, so i want to build something like LiinusTechTips 2 gamers 1 CPU, but with a twist. I Would like to have 1 gaming VM, 1 HTPC and 1 VM for work.

I might have missed something obvious, and I hope you would point that out for me if I have:)

My budget is about 1500-1700 USD and im open to changes to the setup.

HW:
*Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 Xtreme Gaming 6GB
*Fractal Design Define R5 Svart
*Intel Core I5 7500 3.4GHz Kaby Lake S-1151 or i7-7700

*2 x Samsung 850 EVO 500GB 2.5" SATA-600
*Samsung 960 Evo 250GB M.2 PCI Express 3.0 x4 (NVMe)
*Corsair RMx Series RM750x 750watt 80 PLUS Gold
*Gigabyte GA-Z270X Gaming 5 S-1151 ATX or ASRock Fatal1ty Z270 Gaming
*WD Red SOHO NAS 6TB 3.5" SATA-600
*2 x old HDDs about 4 TB, will add more later
*Corsair Vengeance 32GB 2666MHz DDR4 non-ECC
*OLD Radeon HD 7700

Plan:
unRAID installed on USB
Gaming VM installed on EVO 960 m.2 with GTX 1060
HTPC installed on 60GB partition of EVO 850 with HD 7700
General Usage VM on 60GB partition of EVO 850 with internal GPU

6TB RED disk as Parity and most of EVO 850 as Cache

Will add more disks at a later date, will prob end up with 15ish TB

Questions:

Will this work...?

Will I be able to use 2 so different GPUs and pass them to the different VMs?

Can I use the internal GPU of the motherboard for a VM or is that dedicated to unRAID?

Can i get away with i5 or should i use i7 7700?

Let me know if there is anything I need to clarify
