6.1.3 Red X after power outage

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My apartment had a brief (2 min.) power outage.  When I turned my server back on, one drive is now showing a red X.  I bought the drive in April 2016, the other drive on the SATA controller (2 ports) doesn't show any errors.  I don't hear any clicking, full diagnostics attached, should I attempt a rebuild or is there something wrong with the drive?

edit: the drive in question is WDC_WD40EFRX-68WT0N0_WD-WCC4E0VK4DVZ-20170306-1047

Don't see the write errors that would have caused it to be disabled in the syslog. Did you reboot again after you saw that it was disabled? If so, then we can't tell much else about it. You should always try to get a diagnostic before rebooting.

SMART for the disk looks OK. Check connections. You can rebuild the drive to itself.

Shoot, yeah, when it came up with the red X I immediately turned the computer off reset the cables and turned it back on, major fault on my part :(
