Bonding interface question

Featured Replies

Hello guys,

I am new here and new to unRAID. I am in a process of building my first NAS, so far I have put together my small build.
AsRock C2750D4i mobo/cpu

SilverStone DS380 case

2x WD Red 4TB

I got this working last night, and installed everything into the case. Now, I am going to put this case in my network cabinet for physical security reason. I have two questions.

My motherboard IPMI supports interface bonding, and I know unRAID supports it, too.

Do I need to enable the IPMI network bonding and unRAID would see it as one interface or leave the IPMI to default and do the bonding in unRAID?

Oh I forgot to mention, do I have to configure the switchport to trunk or access port to connect to unRAID?

Also, it is unrelated to unRAID, but I am a little concern about the heat issue since the CPU is passively cooled. I am thinking to get a Nortua 60x60mm fan and attach it to the heatsink, but not sure how. Should I use an thermal conductive adhesive tape to attached the fan to the heatsink or a different type of tape?

Thanks
