What about the new hard drives with the 4K block size?

Featured Replies

The new drives recently talked about on Tech sites are starting to come out. The ones XP had a problem with.

Does unraid work well with them?

For the record this is my first post here but if things go smooth and thanks to info on this forum my unraid server may be up as soon as this weekend. WOOHOO!

Yes, just add the jumper that you would use in XP and they are fine.

I don't think there IS a jumper. XP users are having to use drive overlay software if I've read correctly.

The jumper may not come with the drive but you can buy them and jumper the 7-8 pins and "fix" the issue for now.

Only if they want to use multiple partitions.... unRAID uses a single partition, so the jumper on pins 708 works fine.
