VM Windows 10 - USB Audio "noise"

Featured Replies

So this is with only the USB device passed through?

If you pass through a USB controller it should work better.

OK thanks. So as I understand it if I buy this, will it work fine? If so it is a problem already solved

I don't know if tat card will pass through. You'll have to search the forum to see what others used.

There isn't a controller on your motherboard you can pass through?

I believe I have explained well my problem: my VM passes the USB also, mouse, keyboard and external hard drive work fine! In fact it also works the USB audio device Astro A40, however, he feels distorted and noisy ..
I also have another question: given that use passthrough GPU, I can not use the sound card integrated into the motherboard .. How can I do? Turns out this error (see screenshot)

Passing through a pcie USB card or a USB controller (which I linked you the guide to) will solve your audio problems with your headset.

You could try to set USB mode to 3.0 and see if the audio gets better.

The reason why you can't pass through the onboard audio is that there are other devices in the iommu group.

OK thanks ! but can I move to another IMMOU group!

The iommu groups are set by the motherboard maker, but you can try to enable the ACS override in the VM settings to try to force each device I to it's own iommu group.

Reboot and see if the devices are in separate groups.

I've just tried to start Windows 10 VM by entering:
Graphics Card: nVidia GTX 960
Sound Expander Module: Intel integrated
But unfortunately I get this message:

internal error: qemu unexpectedly closed the monitor: 2017-03-19T07:00:02.822135Z qemu-system-x86_64: -device vfio-pci,host=00:1f.3,id=hostdev1,bus=pci.0,addr=0x8: vfio: error, group 13 is not viable, please ensure all devices within the iommu_group are bound to their vfio bus driver.

Some idea?

Do a search for getting integrated audio to work on this forum and you'll find your answer. I'm to lazy to search and find the answer for you.

I've tried but I can not separate the two immou group devices. by the time I bought on Amazon 1 controller usb pci-e and an hdmi splitter device. I hope that at least one of the two devices to be able to use my headphones Astro A40!
