March 15, 20179 yr Recently updated my unraid and it required a reboot. Upon reboot i was unable to connect to it over my network. Plugged in a monitor and saw the IP was reset to 169.254.210.116 subnet 255.255.0.0 why would this happen?
March 15, 20179 yr 169.x.x.x is assigned when a computer (any computer) is unable to get an IP address from the router. Either the update that you did doesn't support the ethernet card or you've got a network issue (cabling?) From the command prompt (locally), you can type in diagnostics and then upload the file that will be saved onto the flash drive.
March 15, 20179 yr Author Log attached.. Its now a wiring issue. Just tested the wire with my laptop. I did notice when removing the wires from the server only one NIC as active. nas02-diagnostics-20170314-2042.zip
March 15, 20179 yr Author Ive replaced the network wires and replaced the network switch and rebooted my router/dhcp server and its still not pulling an IP address. Would setting a static ip be an option? What lines would I need to edit/add in the network.cfg? Thx
March 15, 20179 yr Mobile but I think it's self explanatory set use dhcp to be no and assign it an ip address. If that gets you nowhere delete network.cfg and reboot. The cable is connected but it seems to me (not a linux network expert) that the dhcp server isn't running on the routerSent from my SM-T560NU using Tapatalk
March 15, 20179 yr You aren't getting a gateway either. It's as if the router isn't working. See if you can log into the router and see the server from there. You might try turning off bridging, and see if it can work. Then you can turn it back on again later, if needed.

I do have a lease reservation for the Unraid Server and that may be causing problems so I removed the lease. I'm going to try to delete the network.cfg and see if it will work. Thx for the continued support. Edited March 15, 20179 yr by m.b.d update info
March 15, 20179 yr Author Removing the network.cfg and restarting did nothing to resolve the problem. How do I go about disabling the network bridge from command or through the flash drive files? Thx
March 16, 20179 yr Deleting the network cfg had that effect. Easiest way to set things up now is to simply reboot and select GUI mode. BTW, have you reset your router and switches?

Just reset all my NAT rules and looks like all is well. Not sure why it stopped working with DHCP but for now all is good
