March 15, 20179 yr I am trying to login to UNRAID Web gui but i am not able to do so. Before the issue occurred, i had set the ip of the server as 10.10.10.5/29 and my router end point was 10.10.10.1/29 . Now my router stopped working and so i decided to connect directly to the server from pc(osx) by setting the IP as 10.10.10.1/29. After this i can Ping the server(10.10.10.5), i can even ssh to the server and see the IP/netmask as expected. When type 10.10.10.5 on the url it prompts for the username/password but after that there is no response from the UNRAID or it take more than 10 min to login. How can I resolve this issue? Please help

March 15, 20179 yr Author I was able to download the diagnostics from the UI.. Its my first time i looking through this files.. So i am not sure what to look for or what could be the problem.. the only thing i can think of is by any chance is the DNS server assignment causing the issue.. I have attached the diagnostics, if possible do take a look and suggest a solution.. Edit: is it safe publish sys info in open public? for example the mac address etc.. tower-diagnostics-20170315-2332.zip Edited March 15, 20179 yr by vinay
March 15, 20179 yr Community Expert Not a SMART attribute we often monitor, but it does say FAILING NOW. Disk2 Device Model: ST3500418AS Serial Number: 9VMVCWF0 184 End-to-End_Error 0x0032 099 099 099 Old_age Always FAILING_NOW 1 Probably not the cause of the sluggish UI. What does it do if you boot in SAFE mode?
March 15, 20179 yr Author Yeah .. i used to see that warning when the server was running also.. I logged in through safe boot.. anything specific i need to check? Also why is the broadcast ip empty? any idea.. root@Tower:~# ifconfig br0: flags=4163<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 inet 10.10.10.5 netmask 255.255.255.248 broadcast 0.0.0.0 Edited March 15, 20179 yr by vinay

March 16, 20179 yr Community Expert Can you still get to the command line? If so post another diagnostic.

Just so that you know the unraid is now standalone and not connected to internet. I say this b'coz before my router stopped it was working fine, only when i connected directly did it start behaving weirdly.. Also i tried to login to UNRAID GUI mode, even there i see its slow but not as slow as webgui.. tower-diagnostics-20170316-1918.zip Edited March 16, 20179 yr by vinay

I got friends router and got it connected.. now it is working fine.. I have one important query: If i buy the license and if i loose connectivity like it happened now, will i face the problem ,i.e, webgui not accessible or slow, if i connect directly to a PC ? That is right, but you can't really do much without starting the array. Of course you need to be able to connect to the webUI to start anyway, so it's not clear that is the problem. Not entirely sure exactly how you are connected but it is not the usual way. You really should have mentioned not having a router at the beginning. 32 minutes ago, vinay said: Just so that you know the unraid is now standalone and not connected to internet. Are you using the console to get the diagnostics, or are you using ssh/telnet? I suspect some problem with your "networking" setup.

Apologies if i did not communicate correctly in the first post about the missing router.. Regarding the GUI mode ,yes. To be exact boot into "OS UNRAID GUI mode" , the second option in boot selection in the list of "SAFE boot". The diagnostics given today was collected through ssh. Now the problem is resolved. Used another router and set static IP for the UNRAID and now everything is working.. i can even disconnect UNRAID from router and connect directly to the PC and access "tower.local" through webgui and viola works.. I agree something went wrong in networking config, but what was it is i have not yet figured out.. But it all starts working fine only when UNRAID got connected to internet(through the router) even before starting the array, i mean the webgui was fast and not issues.. I plan to add a 4 port NIC card to the server and get pfsense VM once again going on it, which I failed to get it working properly last time.. so to me pc to server ,1-on-1 connection is important if anything goes wrong.. If pfsense works this would be prefect solution for me(Nothing too serious , just a home lab) Edited March 16, 20179 yr by vinay
