unRaid keeps forgeting the configuration

Featured Replies

Hi,

My setup is:

3 HDD (Parity 4TB and 4TB + 3TB)

2 SSD (250GB + 250GB) - used as cache pool in single mode so I have 500GB space

I use deluge, PLEX and 1 Win10 VM that uses GPU passthrough and I love it.

I have couple of issues with my current setup.

1) After I shut down my unRaid it doesn't remember my configuration. Whenever I turn it on, it sees only 1 SSD in Cache section and another one in Unassigned devices.

I have to manually change the number of cache slots from 1 to 2 and then the Unassigned SSD jumps to second slot and I can start the array. It didn't act like that before...

2) When I had just 1 SSD I had no problems with downloading the files to cache drive and then moving them automatically to the array. Everything was smooth.

Now with 2 SSDs it seems as sometimes my file transfer just drops to 0 kb/s, additionally whenever I play any game on my VM ping is getting high at the load of the game and what I noticed, my Firefox browser started to really lag when I scroll pages. I do not know how those are connected I just want to give as many observations as I can in order to diagnose what is wrong.

If you have any ideas how to improve my situation I would really appreciate it.

Thank you for your replies, I will test it today.

When it comes to the second problem, for example today when I downloaded a huge 40 - 50gb package and it started to move all of my files to array from cache drives, everything almost froze. Other files stopped downloading etc... What might the reason for that?

We would need a diagnostic that includes the activities. Tools - Diagnostics, post complete zip.

Ok, bug #1 fixed using Internet Explorer (what's funny, I don't use Chrome, but Firefox with uBlock plugin - maybe it behaves the same way as Chrome hmm?).

I attach diagnostics

The syslog in your diagnostics is only a few minutes long. The information we need does not survive a reboot. I don't see anything there related to this:
