March 20, 20179 yr So my write speeds are really slow. With more than 10Gb of data, it will write at 30 Kb/s. Everything on are network is gigabit and I have dual Ethernet to the server. I cant figure out what is wrong. BTW, everything is using the 120GB Cache. Please Help Thanks, Chase B

March 20, 20179 yr Have you tried simplifying your networking? Try it with just a single ethernet and see what kind of speed you get.
March 20, 20179 yr you also have 2 disks with errors: were you trying to write to the WD blue serial number WDC WD3200AAJS-41VWA0 without cache? (it's a dumb question because you said you have cache enabled, but cache could be full or set to no in the share settings)

I am still working on writing to the disk. Give me like 10 min

Write speeds to the Cache went thru the roof. I also wrote to a share that does not use Cache and I am still having the same problem. It is now at 2Mb/s. Only that share does not use the Cahce (because I never write to it) but still. Not the biggest deal. Problem solved on shares with cache. Let me ask this tho. My Cache is only 120Gb. If I write more than 120Gb of data, will I see the 2Mb/s speeds. How could I fix that? Also sometimes I will have more than one user hit the Array. Will this cause issues with only one Ethernet. What else could I use those Ethernet ports for or should I just remove them.

You should think about replacing this disk. Do you have Notifications setup?

I have read every post in this thread. Is there something specific you are referring to? As for what happens when cache fills up, that depends on the Min Free setting for cache in Global Share Settings. The thing to realize with Min Free is that unRAID doesn't know how large a write will be. If there is more than Min Free remaining, it will try to write to the disk. If the write is larger than remaining, the write will fail. If there is less than Min Free remaining, it will choose another disk.

When each is full, it writes to the array most times depending on other settings (edit: covered by trurl above). if you are having problems writing to the array, as seems to be the problem, then you have to figure out why that is, and the faulty disk does not help the situation. It can cause a number of issues. are you using turbo write? if so, then it is trying to access the disk regardless if it is being written to or not. parity check? needs to access that disk, and could be dragging down the entire speed of everything. if nothing is being used on the disk, and there is no content on it that you need, look up the "how to shrink an array" topic and get it out of there to eliminate one possible problem if you don't want to wait for replacing it.
