6.2.4 needs kick in the rear to see disk temps

Featured Replies

6.2.4, one parity, seven data, one outside the array.

The disk outside the array always shows temperature, and never spins down.

The eight member drives spin down, and temperature reading becomes an asterisk, normal as far as I am aware.

When a disk is accessed, I can see its read/write counters moving, but the temp is never displayed.  If I refresh the page, same thing -- counters click away, disk temp remains an asterisk.

If I click "spin up all disks," all disks spin up, and temps are displayed again.  Until they spin down.  Then rinse and repeat.

Any thoughts?

Decrease the very high default poling time: Settings -> Disk Settings -> Tunable (poll_attributes)

Recommend 60 seconds.

Appears to have worked, thanks.

Don't remember ever having this problem before.  When did the default values change?

  • Community Expert

Don't remember exactly but a long time ago, during v6 or 6.1

The default value of 30 minutes (1800 sec) is there from the time unRAID v6.0 was introduced.
