Boot failure after 6.2 > 6.3.2

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Tried the update today and totally killed my system.

6.2 > 6.3.2 running on a HP Proliant ML310 G5.

I've grabbed a screen cap from ilo, it boots to this point and just sits indefinitely.

The system locks up before ever getting to the login prompt so I've not been able to grab a current syslog.

Lock up happens in all boot modes normal/safe/gui.

Restoring from the /previous directory has it up and running again, I've tried the update twice more in case something went wrong during the process but same result each time.

I don't run any addon cards, 6 HDD's are directly connected to the motherboards sata ports.

Any ideas? Cheers.

For anyone else that comes across this, I had to modify my syslinux.cfg.

I had to add 'acpi=off' as follows

label unRAID OS
  menu default
  kernel /bzimage
  append initrd=/bzroot acpi=off
