Hello.  I plan to use a gpu on my Unraid.  My motherboard, Supermicro X9scm-f doesn't come with pcie x16 slot.  I don't want to cut my motherboard's pcie x8 slot open at the end, so I decided to use flat ribbon cables, to convert pcie x16 to pcie x8.  Apart from minor loss being seen when you connect pcie x16 to pcie x8, does using these cables further degrade the performance?

probably not noticeable.

these cables to cost a little bit performance, but thats normally only a few FPS

I used them before in my ESXI all in one.. For me the stuttering that came from my ZFS was more noticeable then what the cable brought. I will say at higher resolutions you may see a little more of a problem like 4k then you would at lower..
