Out-Of-Memory & Call Traces warnings

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Running a quick check on my server and noticed in 'Fix Common Problems' that there were two errors for 'Out Of Memory' and 'Call Traces'. Diagnostics are attached if someone could take a look through them please?

For the 'Out Of Memory' I'm guessing I just need to get some more RAM, but no idea what the call traces are.

Cheers

If you have more than 4GB of RAM installed, you might want to try what I did to eliminate this problem on my servers.

First installed the 'Tips and Tweaks' plugin.  Then navigate to the 'Tweaks' tab of the plugin and set these two parameters as follows:

vm.dirty_background_ratio = 2

vm.dirty_ratio = 4

If you have are closer to 4GM of RAM than the 8GB that I have installed and are worried that this value may be too low, you can easy double the numbers.  (Remember, this value sets the PERCENTAGE of RAM to be set aside for the use of these parameter and, the more RAM you have, the bigger the amount of RAM reserved.)

EDIT:Turning on the help will provide you with some helpful information about what these two setting do..
