March 26, 20179 yr Hello everyone, I have a problem with my unRaid setup. Hope anyone can help me out. Since I installed a SSD for cache and for my VM Domains it won't install Windows 10 on a OVMF setup anymore. It shows me the Windows install logo but after that the VM doesn't do anything else. The little round dots that make the loading circle won't come up either. But the VM still stays active and you can disconnect and connect to it again by VNC remote. There is no extra hardware passed thru and no settings changed thru the unRaid GUI. Except the amount of cpu cores, the amount of Memory and the os install iso. Everything works when I choose SeaBios instead. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks in advance. Edited April 18, 20179 yr by johnvid
March 26, 20179 yr Try setting the number of cores to be one just for the install. Also try the latest version of the install ISO you can download from Microsoft

Did not have to do this previously.

My pet theory on it however is that AMD chips are far better than Intel

April 18, 20179 yr Author Does anyone know why I can't install a Windows VM anymore with multiple cores selected? If I change the amount of cores after installation everything works just fine! anyone?
