SSD Not Recognized

Featured Replies

I have a lightly used SSD that I've previously been using for Windows that I'm ready to wipe and use for unRAID. I'm trying to add it as a cache drive, but it doesn't show up anywhere. I just wiped it on MacOS and have switched out the SATA cables a couple times.

Is is there a specific format I should wipe with on my Mac? ExFAT?

Any ideas?

If it doesn't show up in the BIOS or whatever card BIOS it's attached to, it won't show in unraid. Attach the diagnostics zip file.

I tried moving cables around and finally tried changing the Sata in the Bios from AHCI to IDE. That seems to have allowed me to see all the drives.

Is IDE okay to use? Seems fine to me so far.

Ok. Reverting now. I can't understand why my TS140 would only see 3 drives with 5 sata ports.

Apparently that fixed it and I'm back on AHCI. This can be closed now.

Thanks to to both of you!
