Did I buy the wrong thumb drive?

Featured Replies

I was at Microcenter and picked up a Tuff-'N'-Tiny USB drive by Verbatim.

Then I noticed at least one verbatim drive listed as problematic.

Should I take this thing back? I hope not because I love it, its SO TINY.

It won't take you long to try it.

Fair enough. Just figured I'd ask while I wait 10,000 years while data copies OFF these drives and I get ready to build the server.

Flaystus, I'm using a Tuff-'N'-Tiny for my unRAID rig.

They come with the wrong low-level format for some motherboards (including the one that I'm using), but that can be resolved with the HP reformatting tool for USB media. This may or may not be an issue for your MB. Take a look at my thread about it. Once the format was changed it worked like a champ. They are great USB sticks, being so tiny it disappears in the back of my case, out of sight.

Mine worked fine. No special formatting needed.

Seems fine.

Its also on an internal header so it REALLY has disappeared. :-)

In other news my unraid is now UP.

4x 1.5 tb so... 4.5tb.

Controller and ICYDock on their way soon then the real slotting of drives begins as soon as 2tb drops to $100 or less.
