March 30, 20179 yr Community Expert You could also try the echo command in the go file and see what happens. Print out the present /etc/hosts file for reference, add the line and reboot the server. Then look at the file again and verify that the file was properly updated.

August 19, 20178 yr Will modifying the hosts file in this manner impact docker traffic? I run plex as a docker and wish to redirect traffic from their stats collection in light of their upcoming EULA changes, but cannot easily do so at the firewall.

I am also trying to accomplish this and the method above doesn't seem to work from what I've tested with a dnsutils docker container.
