March 30, 20179 yr upgraded this server a few months ago with 4 x 8tb ironwolfs and 2 x 8tb wd reds, 2 ironwolfs as parity and other 4 data dont understand have had no issues Cheers tower-diagnostics-20170330-0731.zip Edited March 30, 20179 yr by Couger
March 30, 20179 yr (I'm ignoring the fact that it could also be a softwareissue) did you bought the disks from the same store at the same time? then its possible that both had the same defect (and the others too!). this happens from time to time, new disks can die witihin a few weeks or live forever - thats why we have backups.
March 30, 20179 yr Unfortunately you rebooted since the errors so we can't see what happened, SMART is OK for all disks, so check cables, rebuild the disabled disk and sync parity (you can do both at the same time), any more issues grab the diagnostics before rebooting. PS : you should connect the SSD to the one of the onboard ports because LSI2008 based controllers don't support trim.
March 30, 20179 yr Author Thankyou for your replies ive just remebered after i started parity check last night i started it with browser on phone and shortly later checked the gui on the server and it was frozen wouldnt respond so i left it alone woke this morning with horror to find this issue, Ill move ssd later thankyou for that i did double check cables this morning ill check again later when home from work, I checked thr smart on drives aswell and couldnt see any issues glad ive got 2 parity drives ? How do i rebuild 2 at once which order do you suggest ? Many thanks Sven
