I have tried to build with Brett's sources and it just seems to work. At this point I have the container available at docker hub gjurriens/unraid-unifi-controller and I have just tried changing the container image in your template and that went without much trouble (the origional install got orphaned, but installing it again and setting the image to gjurriens/unraid-unifi-controller just brought it back up again with all my settings.

@brettm357; just let me know how to get in contact (some form of chat or something alike) and we'll see how we can get it up and running again as we were used to.

Also... could it be that your image is populair enough for Docker to not like to host it for free anymore? If that is the case... I'm working on getting some private docker container hosting going, if I get it running like I'm hoping to get it running that could also be a way out.

That seems to be a beta version. Although it does have the latest binaries for Log4J, people should be aware that it's still in early access.

And I'm glad you got things working again.

Hello brettm357. Will there be any further updates? Thanks for this great working docker container

Hello brettm357, and thank you for all your work.

Would it be possible to have the latest updates, or make it posble for users to run updates inside the docker?

  • 4 weeks later...

brett might you have a copy of your docker using 6.5.53 software? I have APs that will only work up until that version.

Thanks,

Will G.

There would be a way to install other languages?
The app is very technical and has many options.
Although I probably won't understand it in my language either.

Can we get the docker updated? Unifi is on 8. now.

  • 1 month later...

Just installed this and its the first one to work without issues.. apart from it being an old version. Thank you @brettm357

Is this still being worked upon or do I need to jump ship before I get started?

Any other options available, does anyone know?

Hello. Is this Unifi CTRL for AP's only or as well used for switches?

Thx !!!

This just a Docker packaging on the Linux Unifi Controller from Ubiquiti.  Like any version of the controller, it will manage any UniFi hardware including, routers/gateways, switches and access points.  Of course, if you have a UniFi router such as the Dream Machine or Dream router with a built-in controller, this controller cannot manage that; only APs and switches.

I see this docker requires as many as 7 ports to be mapped. In the settings they are just called Host Port 1-7.

1. Can you please give them meaningful names?

2. Until then, can you list what they're for?

Hey,

I have set up the docker and logged on to the website. I have a U6+ and also set the set-inform to the IP of the docker, but I don't get an adoption request. Is there something else that needs to be done before I can adopt?

U6-Plus-BZ.6.5.64# info

Model: U6+
Version: 6.5.64.14808
MAC Address: 9c:05:d6:26:61:60
IP Address: 10.100.100.56
Hostname: U6-Plus
Uptime: 315 seconds
NTP: Synchronized

Status: Not Adopted (http://10.150.150.1:8080/inform)

Hi Brett

As a few people have mentioned here and at your git, Can you please update to the latest version of this please, or let us know how!!

If this docker version works fine (2 AP, no switches or other UniFi devices), is there a reason for me to stress about updating to the latest controller? I really don't feel like dealing w MongoDB and I had some issues with reborn. My wifi is pretty much set and forget.

No tailscale or outside remote access. I do use the UniFi website to access the controller remotely.

add info about remote access

only on unifi security patches and bug fixes per unifi release notes. unfi won't release standing tag patches and only release then with build changes.

As long as you acept that risk with netwroking equipment its fine.

there was a big CVE a while ago and with other new features added I recommend at least getting to network v9

Brett, thanks for your support on this project.

Can I change the STUN port (3478) using the Unraid Docker Edit command? (i.e. add a port?)  I did some research and found I could edit the server.properties container in the running instance, but it doesn't have VI in it to edit the file.

I need to modify the STUN port since I have another container that needs to use it (and I haven't had much luck in finding out how to modify that port either.)

Any assistance would be appreciated.

I can not restore from a back up with this container because the previous one I used was a more up to date version.

How can I update this so I can restore from my backup?

  • 4 weeks later...

Is there a way to update from the Unraid docker version 7.2.92 to a newer release, say 10.x.x.x?
