[FEATURE REQUEST GUI] - VM Platform

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

I was wanting to put forward a request for the GUI.

When you are not using the VM or Docker on Unraid can that be hidden from the GUI or maybe just a toggle under settings?  I personally use unraid just for the file storage side of things and do not plan on using it for VM or docker stuff, would be unreal if there was a way to hide this.

Stuart.

You just need to disable both services: Settings -> Docker and Settings -> VM Manager

Interesting so I did the docker one... But I could not access any of the settings in the VM Menu because I get the hardware is not supported... I am guessing that if the hardware is supported then the setting option appears to disable ?

Hmm, if you go to Settings -> VM Manger you can't disable it? If true post a screenshot.

appears I might have by the sounds of it... In a way w00t... means the feature is already there haha, Is there a Bug section we can move this thread to ?

It is a bug, but any CPU sold in the last 10 years should support at least vt-x, so you'd just need to enable it in your bios to be able to shutdown the VM service, so not sure if it's worth reporting, but feel free to do so if you think otherwise, make sure you follow the pinned guidelines and create a new thread here:

Would be very weird if your processor doesn't support vt-x, likely as johnnie.black says you need to enable it in the BIOS.

You can disable the VM manager by editing the file domain.cfg on your flash device under folder /config.

Change SERVICE="enable" to SERVICE="disable" and reboot.
