April 1, 20179 yr Hello, I'm running the latest version of unRAID, 6.3.3. Every time I reboot my system my 2 cache drives get unassigned and I have to manually assign them. I'm using 2 120GB SSDs for the cache. I've tried running in safe mode, same problem. After reassigning the drives and starting the array everything works fine. I'm thinking the cause might be the PCI SATA card that the 2 cache drives are attached to, here's the line from the system devices page: [1b4b:9128] 01:00.0 SATA controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88SE9128 PCIe SATA 6 Gb/s RAID controller (rev 20) I've searched a bit on the forum, but could not find a similar problem, sorry if I missed it. nas-diagnostics-20170401-2353.zip

The one at the top of this subforum has a table of contents that would have led you directly to the solution johnnie.black linked.
April 2, 20179 yr Author I read that bit about Chrome causing issues and since I was using Firefox already I kind of ignored it. Now that you mentioned it again, I tried the cache disk assignment form Edge, since I didn't have IE in Windows 10, and this time it worked, the settings stuck after a reboot. Guess Firefox might cause issues to some users it seems. Thank you both for your answers and please excuse my ignorance, I'm a noob
April 7, 20179 yr I have same issue with cache drive ssd unassigned on every reboot of my hp microserver gen 8. OS: unRaid 6.3.3. I tried chrome, firefox and disabled Adblocker. Same issue.
April 7, 20179 yr I had a similar problem. I was able to fix it by rebooting into safe mode, assigning the cache drives, and then rebooting back to normal. I haven't had an issue since.
April 7, 20179 yr Author Well, I guess the fix is somewhat system dependent? Because I tried assigning the cache drives with Firefox both on normal boot and safe mode and it did not work but when trying from Edge on normal boot, it worked the first try.
