I am aware of the current disk limitation within unRAID.

 

The "Capabilities" stated represent the Hardware's Physical Limitations, rather than those found within the unRAID server OS (which may or may not change).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

you havent fufilled yoru goal, anyway. goal being easiliy expandable, but if youve arleady fully loaded the case with stackers and hdds, its going to be pretty hard to expand :)

The term "Expandability" is referring to the capability of adding an 8 Port PCI-E Add-on Card when the motherboard's SATA ports are fully utilized; and another Add-on card when those are also all used.

Wow, that will be a beast.  The i3 is a good choice, as GaryMaster has demonstrated that they are even lower power than the Atom CPUs!

 

Everything looks solid to me.  However, if you are already spending that much on your server, why not spend a bit more and spring for trayless hot swap capable hard drive enclosures?  unRAID doesn't support hot swap, of course, but it will make your eventual drive installs/upgrades simpler.
