Moving a share to a flash drive

Featured Replies

Hello!

Currently I have issues with not spinning down drives. I assume this is connected to the fact, that I use a regular share for the apps folder.
I would like to move this share to a flash drive, which neither part of the array nor the boot drive. Just another USB 3.0 flash, which I would leave in the Tower.

What do I need to do reagarding scripts and unassigned devices and how do I move the share correcty?

Not sure that is a good idea as the apps folder can be high traffic.    Normal approach is to have the app folder on the cache drive.   This is not part of the main array.

I don't have a cache drive - but I assume an USB 3.0 flash can handle anything a mechinacal drive can.
