March 29, 201016 yr Please say there is a way out of this! I added a new drive, followed the directions but in order to start the array had to check a box that said the new drive will be zeroed out. This took several hours. When done all 3 drives now show as unformatted. I had about 1.5tb of data on the 2 drives that were already in the array! Am I screwed? What did I do wrong? edit: Sorry for the panic. I stopped the array and started it again. It now realizes the first two drives are already formatted. Freaked me out bad though.

Stop the array, then press "Start". The other drives should show up properly. Unformatted is being reported incorrectly. It is a bug. It just means not enough time was given for them to mount. Just DO NOT PRESS the format button unless only the one new drive shows as unformatted. (That is the expected result after clearing)
March 29, 201016 yr Author Restarting the array caused it to show up correctly with only one drive unformatted. Then I went to another tab and back and it showed all 3 unformatted again. So I bounced the entire box and its all back to normal now and quite happy. 4.5tb up and running with the parts to grow this thing to the moon on the way.
