April 6, 20179 yr I changed out my cache drive (there was nothing pending to move) by pulling the drive from a shut down system and replacing it with a different one that was NTFS formatted. Now, no matter what I do, I cannot get Unraid to make use of the new cache drive. Tried turning global cache settings on and off. Tried disabling and re-enabling share cacheing. Tried to reformat the drive within unriad, but that option does not appear to show up. Even ran a darn parity check. Still stuck. Any help would be appreciated. April 6, 20179 yr Community Expert This wouldn't happen on current release, upgrade and you'll have the option to format the cache.
April 6, 20179 yr Community Expert If unRAID still tries to automount the drive by auto-recognising the format, you should stop the array and explicitly set the file format to be used. Then on restarting the array you will be given the chance to format the drive to the selected file system.
April 6, 20179 yr Author Updated unraid....rebooted.... Unmountable disk present:Cache • ST95005620AS (sdh) Format will create a file system in all Unmountable disks, discarding all data currently on those disks.Yes I want to do this Formatting now. Looking Good! Edited April 6, 20179 yr by Devil2U
