April 9, 20179 yr Hi. I need some help here. About a week ago I installed an PCIe SSD (built from an MacBook Pro Early 2015 SSD and a adapter from eBay), that I wanted to use as primary boot drive for the VM, but I messed things up really bad.. and had to do a clean install of Windows 10. Installed the Anniversary edition, and got it working. Yesterday I desided to upgrade to Creators Update.. Everything went smooth, but after the upgrade, I do not have any sound.. There is no missing drivers as I can see, but I'm not 100% sure. I have a Nvidia GT710 card that is passed throug to the VM, and is connected to TV via HDMI.. Windows 10 says that there is no audio output connected. Any suggestions?
April 10, 20179 yr Author Both is passed through in the VM settings page. Have selected the Nvidia card as GPU, and NVIDIA GK208 HDMI/DP Audio Controller as Sound card. I also tried deleting the whole SSD, virtual machine and all VDISK's connected to it. And sat it all up again. Re-Installed Windows 10 Anniversary Update, and everything worked for one day.. Now I have the same problems in this install.. Even tried the registery fix for MSI mode. I think there might be someting wrong with something else.. On every "cold" boot of the VM, it just shuts down right before Windows should load the log-in screen.. On second attempt it starts just fine. But I looked on some logs, and a few of the unraid plugins are getting lots of errors.. April 10, 20179 yr The wrong token error is because you left a browser window or phone app (margarita or control) from before you rebooted. Closing the all browser windows or the apps solves this. Looks like you have a problem with one of your disks (sdh). Don't know what it could be though. Maybe one of the disk guys will jump in if they see the post.

But beside of creators update or not. Also enabled MSI Mode but without effect. The Sound is distorted or warped after windows goes to standby or just disable the Screen. Tested it with a amd card on first slot and Nvidia second. Same result. So went back to Nvidia card on first single. With the vbios dumping method. But Problems with Sound are also the same^^ Maybe have to test MSI again.
April 12, 20179 yr Author SDH should not be a problem.. SDH is the SSD that is not in the array.. I just use it as a disk for the VM, so it is actually unassigned. But I will try to remove it from the system just to be shure it is not making any problems. But.. when I did the complete re-install on the SSD, my bios f***ed up.. so the boot order was wrong.. and the computer started from the SSD instead of the flashdrive.. And if I don't remember wrong, the sound worked fine when it was not running as a VM. I also tried a linux mint VM I already had.. And there the sound was just laggy, sounded like all things was played twice.. And the SSD is like earlier mentioned, a SSD from a MacBook Pro, that is mounted on a PCIe x4 adapter.
April 12, 20179 yr Author The removal of the SSD did not do anything..i then tried a fresh install of unRAID on another flashdrive.. the same problem occured. I then tried to drop unRAID an just boot off of the SSD.. The sound was just fine. I then plugged the old flashdrive back in, and now I see that I get a error on the console.. Anybody knows where to start with this one?? Fatal error: unusable configuration Driver failed to start (exit status=1). Also tried a boot with no plug-ins.. and the error was gone.. Also tried to boot the VM now (the one using SSD).. But it just hangs under loading.. Other VM running fra array fires up just fine. But sound is still messed up. *edit* Rolled back to unRAID 6.3.1.. and the audio worked fine for about 5 minutes on my test VM.. Then the problems was back.. Edited April 12, 20179 yr by Ja9
April 14, 20179 yr Author Now I feel pretty dumb here Yesterday I found out that I would try the MSI_util program..And guess what.. the audio was fine on my test VM. Re-installed the VM on the SSD, had some boot problems.. but it's ok now. And audio is fine to Running unRAID 6.3.3 and Windows 10 CU. But.. I still have a little problem.. As mentioned earlier, the SSD is unassigned.. So when the VM is running, the console is spammed with the message "/dev/sdh: No such file or directory" Any fix for this?
