Disk preclear really slow, pre-read was also slow

Featured Replies

As it says preclear is slow at 9.6MB/s, pre-read was 120MB/s. My experience is these disks run much closer to 180-205MB/s.

The UDMA_CRC_Error_Count smart attribute is an indicator of a bad or loose sata cable. It is over 2000. Once it is fixed the value should stop climbing and drive should work fine.

Ended up RMA'ing the drive., put a replacement (I had one on hand) in and it's buring at 189MB/s (same drive model)
