Move "User Customizations" to Legacy Support?

Featured Replies

We recently had a new user confused by the stickies in User Customizations. Looks like most of those aren't that relevant anymore and/or have issues with V6 that require patching, and the functionality has been mostly replaced with plugins or builtin functionality.

Should we get that subforum moved into Legacy Support?

Here is the thread where this came up:

Did a quick scan through "User Customizations" and it shows most topics are related to the older unRAID versions 5 and 4.

I can imagine this is confusing for new users, not knowing the history of the product. Seems sensible to move it.

Some are current-ish, and they don't really fit anywhere else.

I would move preclear results to hardware

ControlR and Margarita to plugins (for lack of a better place)

Anything Dynamix to plugins

unraid-autovmbackup to VMs

After that's done, unsticky everything.  Add another sticky stating that some of the following threads may not be current / use at own risk / whatever.  A fair amount of the threads do have activity in the last year and have valid information within them.

I just don't see deprecating the whole thing to a legacy section of the forum.  If you do that, only move items that haven't had a post 2016+ otherwise a lot of info may get lost for joe average user.
