Blacklisted Flash GUID - Replacement Issues

Featured Replies

My flash device was blacklisted after I upgraded from 6.0 beta to the newest version. I replaced the old flash device with a new 32G SANDISK Cruzer Fit and backed up the old contents onto the new flash drive.

I got the NAS device to boot to the WEBGUI. I attempted to go through the registration process of loading the old key and asking for a replacement key. The action came back as invalid. I cannot get a replacement key auto sent to me. Anyone have any thoughts on what I may be doing wrong? Or do I need to communicate directly with Tom M and support?

this. ^^^

Keys get blacklisted once they are transferred from one GUID to another.  They don't get blacklisted during upgrades.

Most of the time when this type of thing happens is when you buy a key from someone else, and they proceed to transfer the GUID to another.

Hi Squid,

No the upgrade caused a non standard flash device to be blacklisted. Tom had indicated back in 2015 when I first bought the license from LimeTech that I might find it could happen. It did.

My main issue now is trying to figure out if I am doing something wrong related to the replacement procedure or just wait out the discussion with support.

Thanks.
