March 30, 201016 yr I use my Unraid box (4.5) as a media server for an XBMC frontend. I have 3 NFS shares... movies (800mb+), TV (250mb+) and Pictures (~100mb). When I copy new items into the TV and Pictures folder, I can detect them through XBMC immediately. When I copy items into the Movies folder, I cannot see them from XBMC (or a terminal) until I reboot the PC (XBMC frontend). If I try to disconnect and remount the share, I get a STALE NFS HANDLE message. I do not ever need to reboot the Unraid box to make it work again, only the frontend. In this box are (2) 1TB drives and (1) 640Gb drive. I am assuming that the issue is from the Movies folder spanning 2 physical drives where the other 2 shares most likely are not. Any ideas on how to prevent this from happening? This has happened since I first installed the unit (using 4.4.2) and has followed through each update I have tried.
March 30, 201016 yr I think that has to do with NFS caching of the directories. I'm not certain how to flush the NFS caches. Maybe someone else has a better idea?
March 31, 201016 yr Author If it was the caching, wouldn't it affect all the directories? This issue only happens with the 1 folder.... which also happens to be the largest.
