Network Question - Bonding with a single NIC

In looking at my network settings, I see that 'Enable Bonding' is set as Yes, even though I only have a single NIC.  Is this correct?  The bonding mode is set for active-backup.

    Yes, this is correct. Bonding is enabled by default.

     

    With a single interface bonding may be disabled though.

    3. Adjust your preference.
