April 24, 20179 yr I'm planning on switching systems for unRaid, atm I'm using a R710 and I want to switch to a DL180 G6. The R710 has an H200 in IT mode for unRaid but my new DL180 G6 only has P410, I asked on Reddit if I could flash this card but it seems you need a P410i for this. Now my question is if I can use a P410 (so not P410i) with unRaid and will it function properly? Also, if I want to switch from my R710 to DL180, can I just take the USB from the R710 and will it work for the Dl180 or is it bound to the R710 and do I need to buy a new licence? TL;DR: can I use the P410 for unRaid, if not why and what are my alternatives
April 24, 20179 yr Your unRAID license is bound to the flash drive so wherever that goes, your license goes with it. As for your P410 -- I would fire off a new unRAID thumbdrive and simply test that it can see the drives behind your controller. From there, it's just a matter of making sure you add the drives in the same order as your current setup -- it is essentially this procedure: https://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Replacing_the_Motherboard_in_Your_unRAID_Server Note that the guide there is for v4 and v5 -- so steps are different for v6 -- hoping to find what's needed for v6 and I'll post it here. Edit: This thread should have what you need (in regards to moving over to a new system): Edited April 24, 20179 yr by avluis
April 24, 20179 yr P410 won't work in stock form. If you create a raid array with it unraid will see that but defeats the purpose of using it on unraid. Reason is far as I understand is it doesn't have IT/pass though. And I haven't seen a way to change that. Why don't you move the h200 over? Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
