April 25, 20179 yr I upgraded from 5.0 to 6.3.3 this weekend with a clean install. Thrilled about the new interface, no so thrilled about the system going unresponsive after 2 days. Web interface is unavailable, so I logged into to find shfs process pegged at 100%, and loads of smbd process unkillable. It appears the file system is borked and syncs will not complete. A "reboot -dnfi" is the only way to get it back. I was able to run "diagnostics". I have added 2 6TB drives to the system that were preclearing at the time, but other than that, no other changes to the system. I have qty 4 2TB in reiserfs that have been running for years without issues. What gives? Can I still downgrade at this point, if so, what to? Some posts says I should move to XFS. That's fine, but how am I suppose to do this when the array won't stay up? If I downgrade, how to move to XFS?
