Custom VM - converting from VMDK but no template

Featured Replies

I have a VMWare Player VM I would like to convert to run in unRAID VM.

It has 3 vmdk disks which I did convert to raw.

but I have no clue on what is needed for the manual xml file when you do Custom VM.

The VMWare files do include vmsd, vmx, vmxf and a nvram file.

I assume one of those have the info needed for the xml file? Any easy method to convert/create the xml file?

Or since the VM runs SLES 11, do you think the OpenSUSE template might work?

This is a data warehouse setup (Teradata) that I want to play around at home, mainly going thru various system related break/fix scenarios
