April 2, 201016 yr So after losing the network card on a headless server without any expansion slots, I've moved to another PC I had lying around. There are only two onboard sata slots so I bought a controller card based on the VIA 6421A chipset. unRaid is picking up the two drives hooked directly up to the motherboard, but not the drive hooked up to the sata card internally or any of the drives in my sata enclosure hooked up to the esata port. I assume that the controller isn't supported but thought I would check here for advice first. Log is here: http://pastebin.com/kWAQ9mRz
April 2, 201016 yr Author So I swapped the Via controller for a Vantec controller which uses the SI3132 chipset. The internal jack on that one works fine, but the external port doesn't want to recognize my enclosure either. No green lights on the drive indicators on the enclosure. Log: http://pastebin.com/hmgNxGFR Any help would be most appreciated. I feel like I'm very close to reviving my unRaid and don't want to spend more money on a usb enclosure..
April 3, 201016 yr whats usb have anything to do with it? the op is trying to find a pci card that has suupport for the pm in his external box. you have one option left, a jmicron 363 based card considing via, sil and jm are the only contenders in the pm market

He was just pointing out that using a usb enclosure instead of the esata one will not solve the problem as unraid will not use a usb drive.
