[6.3.3] cannot pass USB device to VM using GUI

Featured Replies

Hi,

Description:

I'm trying to pass a  USB IR-Receiver into a VM.

lsusb:

Bus 001 Device 005: ID 16c0:05df Van Ooijen Technische Informatica HID device except mice, keyboards, and joysticks

dmesg:

[271515.100238] usb 1-1: new low-speed USB device number 6 using xhci_hcd
[271515.297151] hid-generic 0003:16C0:05DF.0005: hiddev0,hidraw0: USB HID v1.01 Device [www.mikrocontroller.net/articles/USB_IR_Remote_Receiver USB IR Remote Receiver] on usb-0000:00:14.0-1/input0

This is how it looks in the GUI:

When I select this in the Update VM screen and click on Update I always see this error.

VM creation error
internal error: cannot parse vendor id 0xdevice

How to reproduce:

I guess it's kinda hard to reproduce without such a device?!

Just select the device and click on the update button.

Expected results:

Well, be able to select the usb device and update the VM without error.

Actual results:
I get the error above and the VM is not updated

Other information:

By editing the XML and adding the correct IDs by hand I am able to use this device in the VM.

So my guess is the HID in the description of the device confuses the GUI or some parser because it contains "ID" or something like that?!
