Disk config resetting. Shares dissapearing.

Featured Replies

My unraid install is behaving very weirdly.

First started having problems where my docker appliactions would stop working due to read only errors. My shares were also dissapearing every now and then which required me to reboot the server to get the shares back.

My cache drive was a single drive formatted with BTRFS which is not recommended. I have migrated to xfs on the cache drive. All was working fine yesterday when I did this.

This morning I checked the server and all the shares have dissapeared again. I restarted the server before saving diagnostics.

After a reboot the server is saying that the cache drive is unmountable. I stopped the server and the config for cache has gone back to 5 slots forcing cache disk to use BTRFS. I changed it back to one slot and made sure file system was on XFS as it is currently formatted. Server started up fine. Then I rebooted to see if the settings would hold. It did not. Unraid reverts to 5 cache slots and thinks the cache drive is a new device expecting BTRFS.

I dont know if this is related to the user shares dissapearing. The user shares dissapearing happens at random intervals.

The server is running fine at the moment and I am attaching my diagnostics zip file to this post though I fear it may have nothing to report. My main concern is that its not remembering the disk config. Maybe an issue with the flash drive? I have been using that flash drive for about 8 years in unraid.

Hopefully you clever guys can pick something up!

Thanks

Thank you. I was using chrome so will try with another browser this evening.

Is it suggested to to use an alternative to chrome for all unraid functions? Possibly why I am having issues with shares?

No, just for when the cache config change doesn't stick, and some users have issues with other browsers, the point is to use a different browser for that operation, or safe mode.

As for the shares issue I don't see nothing wrong in the syslog, post new diags if it happens again.
